Advanced Technology

The use of advanced technologies helps our endodontists provide the best possible care for their patients. These include:

3-D Imaging: Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)

Our practice may utilize state-of-the-art technology that provides highly accurate, 3-D radiographic images for the diagnosis, planning and treatment of endodontic disease.

X-ray imaging, including dental CBCT, provides a fast, non-invasive way of answering a number of clinical questions where a traditional dental X-ray is not sufficient. In this scenario, our endodontist might ask you to have a cone beam X-ray taken.

The CBCT systems used in dentistry rotate around the patient, capturing data using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. These data are used to reconstruct a three dimensional (3-D) image of the selected area in a single scan. Dental CBCT is increasingly used for various clinical applications including dental implant planning, visualization of abnormal teeth, the position of teeth in relation to vital structures, endodontic (root canal) diagnoses, and dental trauma. These procedures may have a higher risk of complications without the level of detail CBCT imaging provides.

With the addition of CBCT technology to our offices, our practice is committed to providing high-quality and innovative patient care.

Surgical Microscopes

In certain instances, we may utilize a surgical microscope. The surgical operating microscope allows for enhanced vision, by providing illumination and magnification of the treatment site, and allows the endodontist to see the root system with greater detail.

A microscope is beneficial for cases with complex root canal anatomy, aids in uncovering extra or calcified canals and fracture lines. This technology dramatically improves the diagnosis, treatment, and outcome of your root canal treatment.

Ultrasonics

Our practice has integrated ultrasonics into all aspects of our care, including endodontic microsurgery. Ultrasonics are advanced devices that use ultrasound to remove calculus deposits from your teeth more effectively. In addition to this, this device is capable of aiding in retreatments that require the removal of metal instruments, such as posts or silver points, in the canal system. Ultrasonics can make it possible to identify calcified canals and assist in preserving the natural tooth.

SWEEPS® Endodontic Laser Treatment

A laser-activated technology that assists to clean and disinfect the root canal system during endodontic treatment.
